As a person in a larger body – I always hated Valentines Day. I used to refer to it as single awareness day.
In the height of my body grief – I believed the only reason I was single was because I was fat.
Even though I am still single – I no longer believe this. I also know there are others out there who hold a lot of grief around romantic partnership + body size. Because of this, I created this resource of my best podcast episodes for all things Body Image, Fat Love + Sex. Take what you need. And let me know what I’ve missed.
1. Dating + Body Image: Agency & Pleasure
This episode is for the person who struggles with dating or romantic partnerships because they struggle with knowing what brings them PLEASURE. In this interview with feminist dating coach Lily Womble.
In this episode, Lily says, “We’ve been socialized to believe [things] about ourselves and what we are worthy of and what is possible for us, especially in our love life”.
We talk about how to regain autonomy and pleasure in your life – in dating and beyond.

2. My partner said they’re not attracted to me since I’ve gained weight.
In this episode me and Jana (my co-coach for the Body Grievers Group + cohost for the podcast) tackle this arduous topic.
We have sat with many clients who have expressed grief over their partners communicating they are no longer attracted to them since they’ve gained weight.
This is a highly nuanced topic and exploring this hurdle is one that should be handled on an individual basis.
I really like this perspective from life coach Silvia Pohrib on our partners attractiveness not being our responsibility.
We try to address this topic with sensitivity and grace.

3. Fat Sex
In episode 36 of the podcast, I interview my fat friends and fellow therapists on fat sex.
In this episode we discuss the emotional difficulty of fatness + desirability, how to reclaim pleasure as a form of healing, connecting to your body as a form of liberation + cycle breaking, fat fetish + fat kinks, and practical tips and resources for sex with mobility concerns.
You deserve to have enjoyable sex no matter what body size you exist in.

4. Larger than a Ring Size
I’ve had so many folks tell me that their body has changed since they got married. And some are embarrassed to admit that their wedding bands have been stuck on their hand due to weight gain.
In this episode with licensed professional counselor Rebecca Moravec, we deep dive into Becca’s experience of cutting her wedding band from her finger. We cover the grief of letting go of thinness and normalizing the need to take care of your here + now body (even if it means cutting off the ring).

5. Plus Size Love
Dating in general is hard; dating in a larger body is even harder. If you are cynic about love because of your body image - this is the episode for YOU!
In this episode, Texas native, nurse practitioner + Body Griever® graduate Shanea Palone takes us through her incredible LOVE STORY of meeting her now husband + love of her life.
Through ALL the bad dates, bad experiences + proverbial frogs, it all pales in comparison to the joy she feels with her now husband. I had the HONOR of officiating their wedding and being witness to their love from beginning to “I do”.
Walk down memory lane with us as we explore how Shanea went from Body Griever® to Wife + Mom.

Honorable mentions
I was recently interviewed on Catie Corridano podcast, Whole Full + Alive.
In this episode we discuss
that dating in a fat body is exponentially harder but it doesn’t mean you can’t or won’t find love
how romantic love will not improve yourself esteem if you’re self esteem is sh*t
that you don’t need to love yourself to be loved, but we still need to do something about body hatred or it won’t go anywhere
