Let's talk about [fat] sex.
The Body Image Breakdown of Ep.36 of the Body Grievers® Club Podcast
We’re calling it scorpio justice.
If you saw my post you know what I’m talking about.
Regardless, I took swift action when I realized this happened (aka scorpio justice).
When my friends heard about my scorpio justice incident — they were so quick to jump in to offer their expertise on the REDO of this episode. A sneak peek of what are text exchanges looked like…
I know I’m biased, but the new episode is better than the original.
My fat friends Lauren Canonico + Dani Bryant who are also fat therapists crushed this interview all about body image + sex.
In this episode, Dani, Lauren + I discuss the nuances of body image, fat liberation and sex.
This episode is so important to me - especially in the context of body image for 3 reasons:
Society’s Standards of Bodies: For many of our clients, we hear the societal pressure of what the world tells us bodies should look like. The pressure to conform to unrealistic standards can be overwhelming, but understanding these influences is the first step toward liberation.
Reclaiming Pleasure and Healing from Trauma: Societal norms, religious beliefs, and past traumas can profoundly affect our view on sexuality. So in this episode we talk about reclaiming pleasure and navigating intimate relationships in a healing and empowering way.
The Importance of Somatic Awareness: With trauma in the body — even just the fear of existing in a larger body, many of us are out of sync with our bodies. We discuss the importance of somatic awareness and how to embody connection to our bodies as a form of liberation.
